(Ezekiel 36)
It seems that much of the change that God brings about is linked
To coming home.
But is isn’t necessarily change ahead of time
It is often change in the process of the return
And, also change afterwards.
In 1 Peter 2, the apostle describes our condition
It doesn’t look good
Malice, deceit, hypocrisy, slander....
But “...As you come to him....” (v4)
We get changed
It is, after all, the only way we can be built in.
The Good Shepherd is also the one who takes out the stony heart
So, we can become “at home” with Him and with each other.
(I wonder if the prodigal son ever got on with his older brother after the return)?
The Father affirms each of us as loved and validated
“Unloved” is the accusation from the enemy who would prevent our return.
Or keep us in the field working to earn it.
But, in returning, we find that we are loved.
The explanations and speeches can wait
The Father extends his arms
If you are “out” there,
It is time to come home.
