Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Catching Monkeys

(Psalm 146 v 7)

There is a way that monkeys can be caught

With little effort on the part of the hunter.

Anything hollow, with the right size hole will do.

A small log, or a dried out gourd.

A banana or pile of peanuts are placed inside

And, the hunter waits.

The monkey smells the food

Inserts a hand, and grabs the treat

But, now, the hand is a fist and he cannot withdraw

Trapped, not by the hunter, but by that which he will not let go of.

What is it that holds us?

We were set free for true freedom

But, sins committed against us can often become bait

If we hold on to them, we will be trapped

If we let them go and forgive

The hunter becomes powerless

And our escape from a prison of bitterness is assured.

Because Jesus came to do just that.
