Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Forever

(John 7:38,39 Acts 8:27)

We are not always aware of the enormity of what has been given.

Those that are aware turn out to be quite a threat.

Jesus, having spoken about being thirsty (after the feast!), promises something.

The Holy Spirit.

And along with the Holy Spirit will be given power.

Along with the authority to “go”.

It will be given to his disciples fully when he comes into his glory.

Later, of course, it happens.

Later still, another event describes a man

And he had also been given authority

By the ruler of his country.

It was great authority too: He was in charge of the treasury.

And, as long as the Queen was on the throne, he had the position.

But that throne would end.

And that is the difference.

Power and authority have been given to God’s children.

The Holy Spirit has been poured out.

But it’s not temporary.

Because God’s throne is forever.

We have been given power and delegated authority over what oppresses man.

And, perhaps unaware, this world is crying out

To see it.
