Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Currency

(Matthew 7 v 1 – 5 )

In the very useful back pages of my notebook is a map of the EU

With all the currencies of the individual countries listed below

It struck me that even though most said “Euro”

There were some that dealt in a different currency

And perhaps thought of as a bit unusual because of that.

Dealing in a different currency.

So what about the Christian – what about you and me?

Oswald Chambers said that “Life serves back in the coin you pay”

“If you want to receive mercy”, Jesus said, “then you have to be merciful”. (Matt 5 v 7)

Same coin out, same coin back.

What coin do we trade in?

The same as the world?

What is in our pocket or purse that we use to value another?

It cannot be judgement for you but mercy for me

Two millennia ago, God enabled us to exchange one currency for another

His forgiveness and loving mercy in exchange for the judgement that was ours

So, now we find that “mercy triumphs over judgement”

It is a pressing need in the body of Christ.

When thinking about others, whether in the faith or not,

And by his enabling grace,

Let’s deal in the right coin.
