Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Opposites?

(1 Chronicles 25 v 1)

If I was arranging a worship group

And wanted some help to appoint the roles

The last person I would call on for advice would be a military leader

Imagine it.

War and Worship?

But David had memories

Of an earlier time,

Before kingship came his way.

Of hills and sheep and one harp

Communing with the God he loved

Devoting himself to Yahweh.

But then there was the Lion

And the Bear

And then, the Philistine.

His worship life interwoven with a battle against the enemy.

And now..

What of our worship life?

It would seem that worship, whether in music, song, or devoted activity

Has a devastating effect on the enemy.

Through a worshipping church

The battle will be taken to the very gates of hell.

The same apostle who wrote in one letter: 'do not give the devil a foothold..'

Also wrote, in the same letter: 'sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord..' No opposites here.

Worship provides the context for our spiritual warfare.

Let's worship and not be afraid of the fight.
