(2 Chron. 6 v 19)
A while back, possibly a year
One of my brothers (the blood variety) made a decision.
He quit his successful job as a manager in the employ of the government
To progress a long held dream
That he would teach guitar and use his gift as a worshiper / musician to serve the body of Christ.
That instantly cut the salary income of the home in half
There is a mortgage
Two kids
And bills.
His wife and he are both convinced it was his destiny to do this.
Demand grew and he has now got "contracts" with one or two local schools
To give guitar lessons as extracurricular activities.
But, now and again, pupils don't show up
And the money often looks smaller than the need.
(By the way, the new arrangement, when buoyant, still does not make up for the way it was).
On a catch up call yesterday, he told me that he offered to go back to the "government job" part time to help out.
"No way" his wife said "we are not going to touch the ark". God doesn't need a helping hand - he will supply.
Which made me think that, if God is looking to show himself strong on behalf of my brother
He would be well advised to let God do his stuff, and not interfere.
What has this got to do with touching the Ark?
Last time I checked, when we step out in faith (take the plunge, make a leap, use blind faith, outrageously trust etc etc)
And it is in the will of God,
Then the glory is His
And He doesn't need our support.
