No wonder the Pharisees had gathered in one of the towns to confront him.
And their words betrayed their self styled elitism and separate - ness.
Levi was a tax collector, but Jesus called him
Levi was wealthy, and threw a big party for his tax collector friends,
And Jesus.
The Pharisees objected
You know the type?."those who belonged to their sect?."
Sect.
We are in, you are out.
Jesus eating and drinking with those who are not of us.
Revolutionary.
Christians can behave as if in a sect.
"Saved"
Salvation conferring an imagined, unintended superiority.
Occasionally throwing a judgement grenade at a world that is going to the dogs?.
The world we judge longs to eat and drink with us.
With us.
Those tax collectors loved Jesus.
And, he loved them.
