( 1 Ch 28:9, Ps 119:10 )
Last Sunday we went out on an expedition
To find blackberries
We found more than could conceivably exist in one location
Up a bank, through the prickly stuff
Via the tall stinging nettles
And interspersed with spider webs with spiders.
I had a thought as I scratched my hands yet again,
"Do I seek God like I pick blackberries"
Pushing through the resistance of my own inertia
The obstacles of busyness or misplaced priority
To get the reward?
One thing that we have to be certain of is this:
If we seek Him, we will find Him.
The psalmist thought so, and the builder of the temple was instructed as if it was a priority.
We are worshippers and builders too.
Our whole life should be worship as we build a testimony to His grace.
So, maybe when it comes to seeking God
And we don't feel like it, we need to know that there is a reward.
The jars of bramble jelly in our kitchen is proof of a natural reward
Let's press in to the reward that lasts.
