Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Rightt

(1 Cor. 13 v 5, Ephesians 4 v 26)

The cross has meaning

A lot in fact

Especially when you consider the 'horizontal' part.

The way that we treat each other.

God has destined us for close relationship

With each other

That's why the last 6 statements of God's moral and ethical code are all about

Us. (See Exodus 20)

Not that it always goes smoothly and we some times have a word for that

Argument.

Somebody is always 'right' and by implication that leaves the other one 'wrong'

Who, of course believe they are also 'right'

Then this leads to some thing else: impasse.

Or even worse, a silent divorce.

And they risk choosing being 'right' over being closely 'related'

If it is possible for the sun go down on your anger that means it's also possible that I could be waking up facing the one with whom I was angry.

What distance between us is enough to entrench my need to be 'right'?

It seems I can either be 'right' or I can have close relationship

But I have a feeling

I can't have both.
