Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Paying The Price

( 1 John 4 v 8 &9 )

Early last week my wife left me

To go on a 10 day vacation and meet up with some close friends

In America.

We are never apart

(Well, hardly ever).

I received a text saying "This is my landline number at my friends house near Chicago. Please call me"

I was in the car, and thought

"I'll call now - I'm hands free so that will be fine"

We had a catch up for less than 5 mins and I am on a pay as you go tariff

After the call, my phone beeped with the usual post call / text reminder of my remaining balance.

I nearly passed out, but I was stationary at the time.

I had paid a heavy price to communicate with the one I love.

It never occurred to me how much it would cost, only that it would.

Then I thought

"Wait a minute-that's what God did."

Paid the price so He could communicate

With those he loves.

How deep the father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That he should give his only son
To make a wretch his treasure

My initial reaction faded quickly into amazement

As I realised once again

He did it for me.

Which turned my thoughts to our true value

Whatever you believe about yourself today,

The Father thinks that you are worth every drop of Jesus' blood

You are, literally, priceless.
