Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Taking It Easy

(Isaiah 66 v 1 - 3)

It does appear that things are just fine

God sits on the heavens and puts his feet up on the earth

Amazing

Everything about this speaks of the authority and overwhelming presence of God

I imagine that I "own" a house, and here God puts his feet up on the whole planet.

But in all of this there is a cry

From the heart of God

"Where is the house you will build for me?"

It seems that God is looking for a house, a home.

A tabernacle, a dwelling place.

It seems that it isn't the throne

And, it isn't the footstool

Even the kings of the earth have a home, or at least private chambers.

Here, the creator of the universe is looking for the same

And asking where this is

Not in all the things made by His own hand

But in a willing offering given by those who are "humble and contrite in spirit"

Incredibly, this amazing God whose hand spans the heavens

Wants to have his private chamber inside of us.

I can't get my head around this either

But Jesus says to the bride he loves

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me".

My heart, His home.
