Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Hand holding

(John 21 v 18 & 19)

The "feed my sheep" exchange between Jesus and Peter followed an amazing miracle

Which probably reminded Peter of an earlier occasion.

Peter was discovering something that lay beyond repentance

Restoration.

It was always Jesus' intention that Peter would love the flock of God

And feed them.

But there is more than a hint about how this would play out in future years.

To be taken by the hand

And led to places where "you do not want to go"

And this rather enigmatic statement was to signify

How this particular disciple was to die.

But the question is - is it only Peter?

Or is it me as well?

What happens when I truly give up my agenda

And hand everything I am over to Jesus?

All my plans, that in my spiritual youth I was so full of?

Now, I hold out my hand and allow myself to be led

Perhaps to places and into situations

That I would rather not go

But, in doing so, I die the kind of death that He wants for me,

And find that, somehow, God is glorified.
