(Zechariah 4)
The spiritual life can suffer many things
But none is so subtle
Than the slow hardening of our hearts
From neglect of time in God's presence.
Because, slowly we dry up.
It is interesting that in the vision
Zechariah not only saw the lights
But also the channels supplying oil to each one.
There were seven, a picture of the Spirit upon Jesus in Isaiah 11.
The Spirit of the Lord
The Spirit of Wisdom, Understanding
Counsel and Power
Of Knowledge and the Fear of the Lord.
One thing is for certain
I would not be lacking in much in my life
If these were evident.
Then Zechariah's question "what are these" will be answered for me as well
"This is the word of the Lord-not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord"
I need to keep the channels open more.
And burn brighter.
