Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

Revision

(Psalm 42)

We have been here before.

But let's revise.

The spirit that is within us has been joined together with the Holy Spirit

And, that has profound implications

For our relationships

For the way we do church

For the way we relate to the world

Jesus who was God incarnate did not, by being in a body, restrict the expression of God.

Quite the opposite.

He was the "express image" of God, and as Philip was to discover,

Of the Father as well.

In all these relationships, when He touched, then the Holy Spirit touched.

Of course, we are His body now.

Imperfect, but loved.

So, how is the expression coming along?

In you. In me.

The psalmist had a good occupation - recognised for his skill

But this was nothing to him if he could not know the intimacy of being linked to his Saviour God.

He knew that it was from deep within him to deep within God that his life flowed.

Back and forth, a river of power, intimacy and life.

Like the roar of a waterfall...

God's Holy Spirit has been joined to our spirit

And it is this inner life that will sustain in the hard times

We need to give it space to grow.
