(Ephesians 3 v 18,19)
The ultimate purpose is crystal clear
But it seems so impossible to attain
To be filled with all the fullness of God
The reason why Paul was on his knees.
His prayer was almost measured
In steps - stages - incremental.
The basis is love - without which we have no foundation
And, knowing this love that is beyond knowing
Takes the power of God
Experiential power leading to experiential knowing
It is an encounter
Which will impress upon us how wide and long and high and deep
Is this love.
Our foundation is the love of God
The power helps us to comprehend it
And, finding ourselves being filled with love,
We find ourselves being filled with God
Because God is love.
Of course we cannot do this out of our reserves because we are bankrupt.
That is why it has to be "out of his glorious riches."
We need the encounter.
