(Luke 3 v 22 Mark 9 v 4 - 7 Matt 10 v 17 - 20)
After a small discussion which most of the crowd probably didn't understand, the Nazarene made his way into the river and the Strange Looking Man baptised him.
They were family in more ways than one.
Then something happened which was pretty much a first for the hearers.
Heaven opened and a voice said something about this Nazarene - Jesus - being " my beloved Son " and being really pleased about it.
It must have been the Father, because he talked about his Son in terms of affection.
The Father's voice speaking from outside, in.
It happened again on a local mountain, when Jesus met some ancient friends. And talked.
The Father spoke again. "This is my Son, whom I love..."
The Father speaks..
Outside, In.
But something will take place to the followers of Jesus... as they walk with him
Because Jesus said stuff about abiding in him, bearing fruit - hearing his voice - and speaking when he moves you to.
Jesus sees it coming when the pressure is on, and there is nothing left but you and Him.
Your Father's voice will be heard again in that moment.
"Do not worry about what to say - you will be given the words - it will not be you speaking but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you"
Because when the chips are down, in the moment that it really matters,
It will be
Inside Out.
