Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching tem everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20

About Us

Here we will tell you a bit about who we are and what we do. There's also a "History of Lister Hill Baptist Church" attached at the bottom of this page.

The pictures you can see are of the most modern part of the church building which we use as our main worship area, and for a wide range of other activities from line dancing to indoor activities for the youth groups. We are a lively, friendly church, worshipping and celebrating our faith in a contemporary, informal way at our two main meetings each Sunday at 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m.

Lister Hill is part of the national family of 2,000 Baptist churches representing about a quarter of a million people in the U.K. We are part of the Yorkshire Baptist Association as well as the Baptist Union of great Britain and are members of the Evangelical Alliance.

We also have good relationships with all the churches in the Horsforth area.

The church family consists of a broad range of ages - from new-born babies to folk in their late 80's, and everything in between. There is a large, thriving Sunday School that runs at the same time as the main morning service, with children staying in for the first half hour or so, and both Sunday School and church finishing at around 12.15 p.m. Most of the church and congregation is drawn from the Cookridge, Horsforth, Rawdon, Yeadon and Ireland Wood. Some folk come from further afield than that.

We have a wide range of activities that take place either on the premises or in homes in the area.

Use the navigation tools to have a look round, or perhaps come and visit us one Sunday.
